Compilation of my works from school.
My Pro-Tools session completed as part of Recording Studio Fundamentals.
For this track, I aimed for a warm, textured, and emotionally intimate sound that is, alternative R&B. I was influenced by the sonic aesthetics of artists like Daniel Caesar and Sonder — known for their understated drum textures, dreamy vocal layering, and emotionally charged minimalism.
The story talks about the importance of appreciating everything in life. It begins with the main character on his deathbed, showing that he has fallen into a coma. Through symbolism and metaphors, the story sets the stage and reveals what the character is experiencing.
There’s a saying that in the last seven minutes of neural activity before death, a unique phenomenon unfolds – the brain replays memories. Based on this mysterious experience, the story explores what such an experience might feel like for him, painting a vivid picture of how even the smallest things, like a smile or a walk down the beach, can hold deeply personal meanings that resonate in unexpected ways.
We, humans are nostalgic, and the experience of him being on the brink of death and revisiting the moments from his life was life changing for him. When the character wakes up, he gains a new appreciation for life, as if it was from a fresh pair of eyes. We curated this story to encourage the audience to reflect on their own lives and to value the little things that are often overlooked. Life is all about experiences and memories are what keep us going.
I love using my everyday experiences as fuel for storytelling. Every mise-en-scène of this short film, from the framing of each shot to the careful choice of music, even the location, was conceived by me, ensuring that my creative perspective shaped the story from start to finish. I'm always happy to see the stories in my mind coming to life!
In my Media and Foley Arts class, My team and I created a casual short instructional video to explain how to work a boom microphone as part of our graded project.
I really enjoyed filming this with my friends and getting hands-on experience related to the studio industry!
In Foley, I also do spotting sheet for movie clips.
My analysis demonstrates my understanding of film sound theory and how sound contributes to meaning, emotion, and narrative in the video. This assignment allowed me to really showcase my ability to do sound critic and analysis!
The recovery of drug abuse: documentary style film with flashback scenes to dramatise. Beginning in an interview
setting, with the MC and the camera.
MC talks about how recovery is not a straight line moving
forward, that they stumbled, felt like a failure, went back to the drugs, tried to escape, but still mustered up the courage
and strength to try to move forward, stumbling back and moving forward all at once.
Working in Adobe Premiere Pro has allowed me to explore and expand my skills, from colour grading and sound effects to editing techniques.
A short video on scam & use of ScamShield.
The video was edited by me in a montage-style way. I attempted to have a single soundtrack carries the story seamlessly, and the visuals are carefully timed to convey emotion, atmosphere, and narrative progression without interruption. When done well, one song can carry an entire emotional arc.
